ENERGY DEPARTMENT Chief Engineer (Power):

(BS-17) ASSISTANT ELECTRIC INSPECTOR (on Contract Basis for a period of 05 years):

Qualifications/Experience/Test Syllabus: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (second division) from a university or institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission, or an equivalent qualification; and ii) Registration as a professional engineer with the Pakistan Engineering Council. Valid permanent registration certificate as a Professional Engineer from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) issued on or before the closing date for submission of online applications is required.

The Government of the Punjab recently released two notifications, No. SOR-I (S&GAD)9-st 36/81 dated 21 May 2012 and No. SOR-I (S&GAD)9-th 2/2022 dated 26 January 2022, which set out the age and sex of transgender individuals. According to these notifications, the age of transgender individuals between 21 and 30 years of age will be determined by adding seven years for males and ten years for females.

For example, a male transgender individual aged 21 to 30 will be considered 37 years old, while a female transgender individual aged 21 to 30 will be considered 40 years old. The age and transgender individuals will be determined according to the contents of their CNIC (National Identity Card). This is an important step towards ensuring that the rights of transgender individuals are respected and that their identity is protected.

When a large number of applications are received for a particular post or position, shortlisting shall be carried out on the basis of the academic record of the candidates or on the basis of a one-paper MCQs type Written Test. The written test will be of 100 marks and 90 minutes duration.

The syllabus for the written test will be related to the qualifications of the candidates (80%) and General Knowledge including Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Basic Computer Studies (20%). The written test is designed to assess the aptitude and knowledge of the candidates and is an effective way for shortlisting them for further rounds of the recruitment process.

Qualifications/Experience/Test Syllabus: Diploma in Associate Engineering in Electrical (Second Division) from the Board of Technical Education.

The Government of the Punjab recently released two notifications, Notification No.SOR-I (S&GAD)9-st 36/81 dated 21 May 2012 and Notification No.SOR-I (S&GAD)9-th 2/2022 dated 26 January 2022, that have set the age limit for males and females which is 18 to 25 for males and 18 to 25 for females with a margin of 7 years and 10 years respectively. This means males can be as old as 32 and females can be as old as 35. In addition, the age and gender of the transgender individuals will be based on the contents of their CNIC.

This has been put in place to ensure that all members of the society are treated fairly and are given the same rights and privileges. It is important to note that age limits are not the only criterion when it comes to employment and other matters but they do play an important role in determining the eligibility of an individual.
